Nell Tallow, the chandler
An old frog in a wax-spotted apron and a purple hood like her brother's, soot on her fingers.
Found in Harrowfield Farms.
Mind the wax. It's hotter than it looks. So am I.

A day in their life
Nell keeps to the world's one clock, the same for everyone. If you can't find them, try another hour.
- At dawn Nell sweeps the step, walks the lane and dips cloth in the dye vat.
- By day Nell dips cloth in the dye vat, hangs cloth to dry, tends the beans, sweeps the step, walks the lane and clears the ditch.
- At dusk Nell sets a light in the window, walks the lane and sits a while.
- At night Nell sleeps and sits a while.
- In the rain Nell takes shelter and dips cloth in the dye vat.
