Wenna Rill, the laundress
A laundress frog with her sleeves rolled to the shoulder and soap to the elbow.
Found in The West Road.
Six socks on the line. Seven. ... Hm.
Words they answer to
Greet them with hi, then say any of these: name job sock stones ford strangers pike rain harrowfield food. Words in gold in what they say are worth asking about too.
A day in their life
Wenna keeps to the world's one clock, the same for everyone. If you can't find them, try another hour.
- At dawn Wenna fetches water, scrubs at the tub and wrings out washing.
- By day Wenna scrubs at the tub, wrings out washing, hangs out washing, counts the washing, keeps watch and fetches water.
- At dusk Wenna counts the washing, takes the washing in, folds washing and keeps watch.
- At night Wenna sleeps and folds washing.
- In the rain Wenna takes the washing in and takes shelter.
