A trial? Something that burns. Good.
At dusk the Hearth bell strikes, and my niece lights the lane in the order it tells her. Beat her to it.
Stand under the belfry at dusk, quite still, and count. Then Kindle the lamps in the bell's order. The wrong order and they go out. I'll hear it from here.
