Questions and answers
The things new frogs ask by the wayfire, with short answers and a link to the longer story.
Your frog
I'm playing as a guest. How do I keep my frog? Press [Esc] and choose Save your frog. Add an email and a password. Your frog, its things and its progress stay exactly as they are. A guest frog that nobody plays for 30 days rests for good and its name is freed for someone else, so save it early. Linking an email ends that clock for good.
Can I have more than one frog? Yes. Once you have an account, the picker holds up to four frogs.
Can I change how my frog looks later? Yes, any time, and it's free. On the homepage press Play, then Change look under your frog. The Frog Tailor opens with your frog as it is: change its skin, eyes, lips, marks, facial hair and outfit, then press Save look. Every frog who sees you sees the new look at once, even if you are playing in another tab. Your class and name never change. Your gear also changes what everyone sees: put on a hat and every frog who passes sees that hat. See Gear and rarity.
Staying alive
Where am I safe? Inside the eight standing stones of the Arrival Ring, and round Mabry's cart inside the ring of low kerb stones. Nobody can attack anyone in there. Everywhere else is open ground. See Death and PvP.
What happens when I die? Below level 8, nothing at all: you wake on the Arrival Ring. From level 8 on you lose some experience, and each stack in your bags may fall into your body. Your worn gear is safe. Blessings soften all of it.
Can other players attack me? Not below level 8, and never in a safe zone. Above it, out in the open, yes, but damage between players is halved and a skull marks anyone who strikes first.
What do the skulls mean? A white skull means that frog attacked someone who hadn't attacked them. Red and black skulls mean many unfair kills, and their owners drop everything when they die. The full table is in Death and PvP.
Why won't my health come back? It does, slowly, once you've been out of a fight for a few seconds. Eat something and it comes back much faster, faster still by a lit fire. See Food and potions.
Getting on
Where should I hunt at my level? See Where to hunt: every creature by level and place.
How do I make my first coins? Creatures don't carry coins. They drop parts. Sell those to Mabry Fenn at her cart: say hi, then trade. See Trading and coin.
Where can I find food for free? Berry bushes, mushroom patches by old logs, the last apple tree in Harrowfield's orchard, and trout in the shallows at dusk. Stand next to it and press [E]. Everyone shares the same bushes, so don't count on it for every meal.
How do I get better gear? Shops sell plain and uncommon pieces. Anything rare or better is found on creatures, earned from quests or traded between frogs. See Gear and rarity.
What do the colours on items mean? That's the rarity: plain for common, then green, blue, amber and radiant gold. Purple is never a rarity. Purple belongs to the Hushed.
What's a quest like? A small story, not a chore. Somebody has a problem, and it is rarely the problem they say it is. Talk to folk, ask about the words picked out in their speech, and keep your quest log ([O]) open. The quest pages say who to find, and hide the rest behind a spoiler button.
Is anything here bought with real money? No. All the coin in KEKRUNE is in-game coin.
